We're completely losing it, and here's why: one of our favorite dishes has made its way to a quick-service spot at Disneyland, and we couldn't be happier!
In New Orleans Square at the Royal St. Veranda, they've added the Monte Cristo Sandwich to the menu for just $13.99! It's packed with ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and served with jam. We were eager to see if it measured up to the ones at Cafe Orleans and Blue Bayou – and let me tell you, it does!
The outside is sweet and crispy, while the inside is soft and packed with savory goodness. Though the turkey is a bit hidden, the jam adds a delightful sweetness that pairs perfectly with the sandwich's fried exterior. If you're craving something sweet and savory, this is a must-try. Plus, it's a more affordable and quicker Monte Cristo fix than dining at a table-service venue.
We also tried the Coffee Fritters for $7.29. While they were soft and donut-like, the coffee flavor overpowered them. For coffee lovers, this might be ideal, but we thought it needed more cinnamon or mocha sauce for balance.
