Not all Disneyland restaurants are the same. Some have been around for decades, like the iconic Café Orleans in New Orleans Square, which first opened in 1966. We've just reviewed our experience there—think it's worth a visit on your next trip? Let's dive in!

The atmosphere at Café Orleans is truly reminiscent of New Orleans with its vintage brass fixtures, stained-glass panels, and a choice between cozy indoor dining or a bright, umbrella-covered patio. And the menu? Delicious classics abound! The Monte Cristo Sandwich is a definite must-try, and they offer a variety of Cajun favorites and plant-based options alongside a selection of drinks.

Our meal kicked off with the Chicken Gumbo Soup, rich with a spicy Cajun flavor. It's flavorful, but a bigger portion would have been appreciated. Next, we tried the Battered & Fried Monte Cristo Sandwich. The sweet batter, Swiss cheese, and fruity preserves make it a standout dish, but some might find the batter a bit overbearing. The Pommes Frites are a perfect side, especially with the tangy dipping sauce.

For dessert, the plant-based Crème Brûlée Tart blew us away with its vibrant vanilla notes, complemented beautifully by fresh berries.

To wash it all down, we sipped on the Signature Bourbon Julep. While a bit pricey, its sweet bourbon and citrusy notes make it a delightful treat, though it's less minty than its non-alcoholic counterpart.

Café Orleans remains a top choice at Disneyland. Its classic eats and nostalgic vibes make it a charming stop. Whether you're after lively Cajun dishes or just enjoy people-watching from the patio, it's a spot that transports you right into the heart of New Orleans Square.
