The highlight of Disney Springs for us? Definitely the FOOD! The area is filled with fantastic restaurants, and one standout — Jaleo by Chef José Andrés — is celebrating Florida's strawberry season with the Festival de Fresas! They've teamed up with Southern Hill Farms for the freshest strawberries. It’s all about unique strawberry-inspired dishes, and we're here to give you a taste of the experience.
Starting now until March 16, 2025, Jaleo is serving seven special strawberry-centered dishes. We had the chance to try them out and couldn't wait to share our thoughts!
First up was Texturas de Fresas for $16, a playful strawberry purée ball experience that explodes with silky juice. Then came the intriguing Cono de Queso azul “Mamá Marisa” y fresas for $6, with its blend of blue cheese, strawberry marmalade, and pistachios — a delightful mix of sweet and savory.
The Coca de queso idiázabal y mermelada de fresas at $12 gave us a sweet-salty combination akin to a Monte Cristo sandwich, but with strawberry marmalade and grated Idiazabal cheese. The Gazpacho de fresas for $11 was a fresh blend of strawberries, tomatoes, cucumber, and peppers — a refreshing balance of flavors.
For $10, the Pinchos de fresas, sandía y tomate combined fresh skewers with sherry dressing. Though tasty, it wasn't the evening's star. The Ensalada de fresas at $14 featured strawberries, tomatoes, avocado, and goat cheese, offering a delicious balance of fruity acidity and creamy texture.
Finally, the Fresas con nata dessert for $10 was a lovely Spanish touch, with peeled strawberries and a light cream flavored with orange liqueur, providing the perfect finish to a strawberry feast.
Besides these delightful creations, Jaleo's regular menu items like the Croqueta de jamón and Pan con chocolate were just as amazing.
