There’s a NEW coaster coming to Universal Studios Florida in 2027!
Universal Orlando
Universal Orlando just announced that its own version of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be opening in 2027 to replace the former Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster. But with this announcement comes news of a big closure, as well!
Fast & Furious – Supercharged is Universal Studios Florida’s current Fast & Furious-themed attraction. This ride is a bus-style attraction that features a classic Fast & Furious-style chase scene through the city, complete with explosions and wild car tricks. But now, Universal has revealed that the current ride will close in 2027.
Fast & Furious Supercharged
No details have been shared yet about what may replace Fast & Furious — Supercharged, but it’s located in the San Francisco area of the park, so it’s possible we could get something to fit that theme. Universal Studios Florida has made several major changes in the past few years, including the transformations of Minion Land and DreamWorks Land.

It’s no surprise to many fans that this attraction is on the chopping block. Fast & Furious — Supercharged has not been very popular, and Universal Studios Hollywood was already slated to get its own version of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. When the Rip Ride Rockit closure was announced, many people hoped for a Florida version of the coaster, along with the subsequent closure of Supercharged.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for a closing date and any more construction updates from Universal Orlando.
