Guess what just rolled out, quite literally, on a boat!
Welcome to EPCOT! We sat down for what we expected to be a simple sushi dinner at Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya in the Japan Pavilion and ended up immersed in a sushi extravaganza. The $300 Fune, which translates to "boat," was ridiculously loaded with deliciousness and is easily one of the most extravagant experiences you can have with sushi in EPCOT. Was it worth it? If done right, absolutely!
The "boat," designed to serve 4-6 people, made us reconsider just how much sushi three people can handle. It was visually stunning, filled with expertly arranged sashimi and rolls that practically melted in your mouth. The rolls were solid and tasty, exactly what you crave during a Disney escapade. While not as inventive as high-end omakase or Takumi-Tei, this meal is a spectacle in itself. When it arrives at your table, expect heads to turn!
For $300, this experience might seem steep, but split between a group, it's a bit more digestible. You'll pay about $50-$75 per person, which isn’t outrageous when compared to a typical $25 quick-service meal in EPCOT. Would we tackle it again with only two people? Probably not, unless it's for a special occasion. But with a larger group, it’s a resounding yes!
Would you splurge on this sushi boat experience? What's your favorite over-the-top Disney dining memory? Share your thoughts below!
