The World Showcase has been one of the most popular areas at Disney World since EPCOT first opened back in 1982. Yet, despite how beloved the area is, there are still some secret rules and hidden gems that many guests aren’t aware of.
Germany Pavilion
From under-the-radar treats and tasting areas to breathtaking views of the World Showcase Lagoon, these hidden gems could change your whole approach to a trip around the world at EPCOT.
World Showcase has SO MANY well known snacks and drinks, that sometimes it can be easy to forget about a favorite. That’s why we’re here to remind you of things like the Frozen Mint Tea. The mint flavor and sweetness of this drink work really well together to create a refreshing option. You can also get the Frozen Mint Tea with Bombay Sapphire Gin, so you can get a drink that counts towards your drinking around the world.

Japan’s Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya not only provides “a variety of mouthwatering izakaya-style delicacies, including savory skewers, crispy tempura, succulent sushi rolls and hearty okonomiyaki”, but also a fantastic view of the World Showcase Lagoon, including during EPCOT’s nighttime shows like Luminous.

Located outside the Mexico Pavilion overlooking the World Showcase Lagoon, La Hacienda de San Angel generally offers one of the most unique dining experiences in Disney World. However, what some may not know is that the restaurant is only open during dinner, beginning at 4:00 PM.
Before that time, the restaurant’s seating, which gives tremendous views of the water, is open to those who pick up quick service lunch from La Cantina de San Angel.

While many of World Showcase’s libation stations are well known, some guests are unaware that numerous World Showcase retail locations feature wine/beer bars/tasting areas in several World Showcase stores. For example, Weinkeller in Germany offers a great selection of German wines by the glass, as well as a Wine Flight, which lets you sample a few different wines, and sometimes an Artisanal Cheese Plate to pair them with.
