Disney has been busy shaking things up with several ride updates and refurbishments. While many guests look forward to these changes, others aren't as thrilled. We understand this mixed reaction, as introducing something new often means saying goodbye to something beloved.

Recently, Disney announced that Soarin’ at both Disney World and Disneyland will be replaced by Soarin’ Across America. This new version will showcase iconic U.S. sights instead of global landmarks. While some fans are excited, others wonder if it will capture the same magic as its predecessor.

When news broke on social media, our reader Paul Atwell commented, “Why ruin another ride?” highlighting a sentiment many share. However, remember that Disney always brings different memories for each visitor—no right or wrong way to experience the magic.

Soarin’ has undergone changes before, transitioning from Soarin’ Over California to Soarin’ Around the World. Back then, as now, not everyone was keen on the switch. And as Disney prepares for significant park changes in 2026, this new version might come with timing and accessibility challenges.

There's a chance Soarin' stays open during nightly testing since it's a screen-based attraction, sparing it from long-term closure. However, if it closes, it could impact many visitors, whether or not they're excited about the update.

Although Soarin’ Around the World might be departing, we've seen earlier versions pop back during special times and events, so there's hope. Watch for Soarin’ Across America come Summer 2026, and keep an eye out for any updates.

What are your thoughts on this new Soarin’ transition? Are you excited or feeling nostalgic? Let us know in the comments!
