When planning a visit to Universal Orlando, it can be difficult to decide what you should eat on your trip and what you should skip.
Universal
Which is why we are here! We make sure to review food items across all of Universal Orlando, so you know what you need to prioritize on your next trip. And we recently stopped by the cutest (and most mischievous) restaurant in Universal Studios.
On our last trip to Universal Studios, we visited Minion Cafe to try two items. This restaurant is themed to the Minions and full of fun details and a hilarious atmosphere.
Minion Cafe
First up, we grabbed Jerry’s Mega Cheesy Burger for $18.99. This is a 7 oz. all-beef patty, American cheese, crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, on a house-made brioche bun, served with Minion tots, and a side of cheese sauce.
Jerry’s Mega Cheesy Burger
This burger was really well cooked and had a wonderfully soft brioche bun. It absolutely melts in your mouth! The burger itself was a little pink and very juicy. Also, it had lots of bacon on top with cheese, lettuce, and tomato.
Jerry’s Mega Cheesy Burger
The lettuce was super crispy, and the fresh tomatoes were surprisingly good. The cheese sauce on the side was very delicious but a little overpowering on the burger, so we would suggest keeping it on the side to enjoy with your crispy Minion tots. Overall, if you’re looking for a delicious and well-made burger, this is an amazing option.
Jerry’s Mega Cheesy Burger
We also grabbed Otto’s Carbonara for $20.99. This is made with yellow cavatappi, garlic cream sauce, pancetta, and peas. We are almost always pleasantly surprised by the food at the restaurant, and this item is no different! The carbonara was super creamy and flavorful, with every noodle coated in the great Alfredo sauce.
Otto’s Carbonara
There were lots of peas, which tasted very fresh, and the bacon was well cooked. Every bite was filled with creaminess and very pleasant to eat. The pasta was cooked extremely well, and the dusting of Parmesan cheese complemented the flavor in a nice way. This was a fun and unique take on a carbonara and came with a huge portion that could definitely be split.
Otto’s Carbonara
Also be ready with your camera because this one comes out to your table with a fun presentation. If you want something unique, filling, and well-made, then we would definitely suggest trying this one on your next visit to Universal Studios.
Otto’s Carbonara
We always love taking a trip to Minion Cafe and think that it is worth a try when you visit Universal Studios. We will continue to bring you Universal food reviews, so stay tuned with Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything!
Will you be trying either of these meals on your next visit to Universal Studios? Let us know in the comments!
