Cinco de Mayo is coming up soon, and if you’re hoping to celebrate in Disney Springs, we’ve got the restaurant for you!

Frontera Cocina

Frontera Cocina is one of our favorite spots in Disney Springs for some delicious Mexican eats, and for Cinco de Mayo, that’s certainly brought up another level! From May 2nd-6th, you can experience a special menu that’s only around for Cinco de Mayo, and we got a sneak peek at it to convince you to check it out before it’s gone!

The Cinco de Mayo Brunch will be available from May 2nd through May 5th, and in addition to special menu items, you can also enjoy a live mariachi band!

It’s time to celebrate!

We started off with the Mango Popsicle Margarita, but there are numerous other popsicles available as well. This was so refreshing and a great way to keep the drink cold without too much ice. As the popsicle melts, more and more mango flavor comes out, and we overall thought this was such a fun way to present a flavored margarita. It’s strong, but highly enjoyable!

We also tried the Hola Hugo, which is a light and refreshing cocktail with blanco tequila, botanical liqueur, and a hint of elderflower. This was delicious, and those hints of elderflower in every sip were divine. The lime juice adds a hint of acid, which balances it wonderfully. Overall, this is a perfect spring cocktail that we would absolutely order again!

For our starter, we got the Chipotle Chicken Flautas for $15. These are Crispy chipotle chicken tortilla flautas, Chihuahua cheese, red garlicky beans, roasted tomatillo-avocado salsa, garnished with crema, Cotija cheese, and fresh herbs. The crema drizzle is super creamy, and the cabbage slaw adds even more crunch. The tomatillo salsa is smoky and balanced with great acidity, and dipping every bite is an absolute must!

We also grabbed the Guacamole and Chips starter in its “Fully Dressed” form for $16, which is topped with cilantro, onion, bacon, serrano peppers, cotija cheese, pepitas, and tomatoes. The guacamole is so perfectly creamy, and those toppings really set it apart from regular guacamole. It’s also served with tomatillo salsa and a classic red salsa, and we loved drizzling a little bit of the tomatillo salsa all over the top. The chips are clearly housemade, being crispy, crunchy, and absolutely delicious all around.

Guacamole and Chips

For our first entree, we got the Huevos Motuleños for $19. This is two fried eggs on crispy tostada with roasted tomatoes, spicy habanero, country ham, peas, sweet fried plantains, queso fresco, white onion, cilantro, and black beans refritos. This dish is well-cooked with many traditional breakfast flavors. We do recommend putting on some salsa, because without it, the flavors fall a little flat, but with it, they soar! However, if you’re heat-averse, we suggest ordering the tomatillo salsa on the side and drizzling it over the entire dish.

We also got a chance to try the Chilaquiles for $18, which is made with Poblano rajas, cotija and chihuahua cheese, black beans, tortilla strips, fried egg, with your choice of salsa roja or salsa verde.

Chilaquiles

Our final dining option was none other than Pancakes for $10, which are Mini cornmeal pancakes with butter and maple syrup.

Pancakes

These were delicious! They taste like a sweet, breakfast version of a corn cake. They are served simply with whipped butter and maple syrup and were, as we were hoping, a hit. They were perfectly cooked, but not heavy at all, which is essential for brunch, in our eyes. We suggest ordering these as a side to cool down after a spicier entree, and they are sweet enough that they could almost be dessert at the end of a meal!

Overall, we highly recommend checking out this spot for brunch next week, especially if you’re looking to only do a half day in the parks and want to spend some time in Disney Springs in the morning.
