Granny Ogle’s is that kind of place, and it deserves a lot more attention than it typically gets. We stopped in recently and tried a couple of menu staples, so here’s everything you need to know before you visit.
Granny Ogle’s Ham and Beans is a counter-service restaurant tucked inside the Craftsman’s Valley area of Dollywood, which is one of the more charming corners of the park. The whole concept is rooted in old-fashioned Appalachian home cooking, the kind of food that feels like it was made in someone’s actual kitchen. A savory cream sauce tied everything together and kept each bite cohesive. Is it as good as a homemade pot pie made with love on a Sunday afternoon? Not quite. But it’s close enough to be genuinely impressive for the setting.
