Disney Springs is THE place in Disney World for shopping, dining, and entertainment, but there are some days that we walk into this part of Disney World and flat-out CRINGE.
Disney Springs Sign
We love everything Disney Springs has to offer, from sought-after Disney merchandise to mouthwatering restaurants (I’m talking to you, Homecomin’), but there are just some things that give us the ick when we’re here, and we’re laying it all down for you right now!
There are a lot of different modes of transportation Disney guests can take — the Monorail, the ferry boats, the Friendship Boats, the Skyliner, rideshare options — the list goes on and on. But not every area has the same modes of transportation. So, when people are looking for transportation like the Monorail or the Skyliner in Disney Springs, we take a deep breath.
Monorail at EPCOT
Disney Springs only has two free modes of Disney transportation — the buses and the boats to nearby resorts. There is also a rideshare option, but that comes at an extra cost. It’s also important to note that the buses and boats only go to resorts, not the theme parks. If you want to go to one of the four theme parks and you’re at Disney Springs, you’ll either have to board the buses or boats back to your resort and go from there, or take a rideshare over to the parks.

We get it — it may have been a long time since your last Disney trip, and things may not look the same anymore, but one of the biggest icks we get when going to Disney Springs is seeing someone looking for Pleasure Island. This area was catered to adults with themed nightclubs, bars, and entertainment venues and officially closed in September 2008. While we do cringe at this moment, we can’t help but feel bad because let’s be real — we miss it too!
Pleasure Island
This is the newest addition to our “Top Cringey Things You Can Do in Disney World” list because this rule was enacted just under a month ago! Now, guests boarding the buses to nearby Disney resorts MUST show their hotel or dining reservation to be allowed on board.
The New Bus Rule
Recently, we’ve really gotten the ick when guests are turned away from boarding because they weren’t aware of this new rule. Even worse is when the guest turns it into a whole scene by arguing with the Cast Members, who are only doing their jobs. Don’t be that person and read up on Disney’s newest rules before your next trip!

Many guests think that they can leave their children unsupervised in Disney World because there’s always a Cast Member around to watch, but PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS. Cast Members are there to help make sure you are having a great vacation, not to be free babysitters. Not only is it cringey, but it’s also not allowed — all children must be supervised by an adult, no matter where they are or if there is a Cast Member nearby. It can get very crowded in Disney Springs since it doesn’t require a park ticket, so always keep an eye on your children!
Disney Springs Crowds
One of the most common things to do that is extremely cringey is to obstruct walkways. We see this ALL the time — stopping in the middle of a walkway to tie your shoe, standing in front of an entrance to a store, blocking an emergency exit; we see these things CONSTANTLY! The next time you’re caught in a similar situation, just take a moment to step to the side and be aware of your surroundings because obstructing these areas is actually prohibited in all parks and resorts in Disney World.
