The best thing about Disney World isn’t the food or the rides or the entertainment…it’s the Cast Members!
Cast Members
They really are the reason that magic exists in Disney World, and the customer service that they offer is unparalleled. But if you’re planning a trip to Disney, there are a few Cast Members you’ll want to be on the lookout for during your trip!
One of the best types of Cast Members in Disney World is the “themed role” Cast Members on attractions! And when it comes to themed roles, there are none quite as fun as the First Order members on Rise of the Resistance. These are the folks who (*spoilers ahead*) capture your transport vessel and take you aboard the Star Destroyer.

Once they get you in their clutches, you’ll be sorted into groups to be “interrogated.” Then comes the fun part! These Cast Members often get really into their roles, being a little less friendly and a lot more intimidating. It’s not actually scary so much as it’s sassy, so it’s fun for all ages to experience these Cast Members at work.
If you’ve ever had your photo taken by a PhotoPass photographer in Hollywood Studios, you might’ve met Willie — he’s an icon and has been recognized in the past as the Cast Member to receive the MOST cast compliments. He primarily works in the Hollywood areas of the park, and he’s a gem.
We love Cast Member Willie!
Willie’s always smiling and seems to really love what he does, making every photoshoot memorable. He’s known for saying “I’m gonna have some fun with y’all!” and BOY does he. In 2025, he received the Walt Disney Legacy Award. Go Willie!
I grouped these two together since they’ve got similar vibes — the Haunted Mansion hosts and the Tower of Terror bellhops are must-see Cast Members during your visit if you love all things eerie and spooky. They’ve got this kind of “creepy but surprisingly chill” thing going on for them, and their uniforms (known as “costumes” in Disney speak) are so fun and detailed.
Haunted Mansion Cast Members walking their ghost dogs
They often have delightfully on-theme things to say when you speak to them, and their scripts for directing guests fit really well with their attractions (“please move into the dead center of the room,” anyone?). These are the kinds of roles that new hires dream of getting placed in at Disney World.
If you’ve got kids who are Elsa-obsessed, you’ve probably seen it, but otherwise, For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration in Hollywood Studios is a hidden gem of a show! This 30-minute performance features sing-along versions of the songs from the original Frozen film, but it’s narrated live by two Arendelle historians, Erik and Aria.
Frozen Sing-Along
And let me tell you…these guys are HILARIOUS. They crack some of the funniest jokes this side of the Jungle Cruise, and they sprinkle in some humor for the parents as well. You’ll be cackling all show long and walk away saying, “Well, that was surprisingly delightful!” even as an adult.
Last but not least, we’re going to recommend you head over to 50s Prime Time Cafe, where you can dine in “Mom’s kitchen,” where the servers are your cousins! And these cousins? They don’t hold back! They will straight-up punish you if you don’t eat all your veggies or put your elbows on the table.
Clean Plate Club!
You might find yourself being sent to the corner or performing “I’m a Little Teapot” live in front of other guests. This is the kind of meal that will cause inside jokes with your family and friends that’ll last for years to come. (Seriously, my husband has me listed in his phone as “Betty Jean” because it’s what our 50s Prime Time cousin called me the whole meal.)
Those are the top Cast Members you’ll want to look out for when you’re in Disney World. See these folks, and you’re sure to level up your vacation experience!
