I've decided to skip Disney World this year, and it's a tough decision for me.
I've been a dedicated Disney fan for over 12 years, visiting annually and even working there as a Cast Member. But this year, we opted out of the trip.
Here's why:
**Disney World Is EXPENSIVE**
The costs have become overwhelming. When it was just me, I could justify the expense despite the hit to my finances, but now with a toddler, it’s not feasible. Groceries alone are costly, and I have more pressing financial responsibilities. I may have booked a trip for next February to ease the longing, but for now, we're skipping a year, despite tempting discounts.
We now pay for our 2-year-old's flight and food, which adds up quickly. Disney prices for tickets, food, and merchandise have all increased. With few new attractions since my last visit, it made sense to hold off.
**Disney World Is Tough With a Toddler**
Disney with a toddler is challenging. While my son loves the characters and rides, the disruption to his routine is stressful, and the cost of park time for limited hours due to nap time is significant. Additionally, he's a picky eater, surviving mostly on snacks. Next year, with older age, fewer naps, and more attractions available, should be better.
**Closures, Closures, Closures!**
Numerous closures this year solidified our decision. Many beloved rides and attractions are unavailable, and the overall atmosphere is less enticing.
Overall, taking the year off, though difficult, feels right. Are you also skipping Disney World this year or share your thoughts on the current Disney experience? Share below!
