I adore Disney World! I've been an Annual Passholder for years, my career revolves around Disney and travel, and I visit the parks about once a month (or even more)!
Although I’m a huge fan of the parks, I'm considering skipping Disney World in 2026, which is a shocking thought for me—I've got at least five compelling reasons you might agree with.
Typically, Disney feels like my second home, but lately, things seem a bit different. I haven’t skipped a year since 2019, having witnessed many changes since I first visited at age 10. So what's the big deal about 2026?
**Construction Overload**: There’s extensive construction across Disney World, with Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios each getting two new lands, and major changes happening at Animal Kingdom. The hotels aren't spared either, which could make for a rather noisy trip. However, lower crowd levels due to construction might be a plus for some.
**Rising Costs**: Every year Disney bumps up prices on tickets and food. With rumors of new pricing structures, this might be the year families feel the pinch. Don’t worry though, there are still tips to save!
**Universal’s New Allure**: Universal Studios’ recently opened Epic Universe park is quite impressive, turning it into a tempting vacation option.
**Disneyland’s Charm**: With Disneyland celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2026, it might be the perfect time to explore somewhere new.
**Disney Cruise Line’s Expansion**: With 3 new ships introduced recently, a Disney cruise could offer a magical getaway without the park stress.
