Southwest Airlines has certainly stirred up chatter this year, introducing some controversial changes. Gone are the days of complimentary checked bags and open seating, swapped out for a revamped boarding system. Despite these shifts, there's a refreshing bit of news on the horizon!
Starting October 24th, Southwest flights will offer free Wi-Fi, courtesy of T-Mobile. Now you can stream or surf the web without missing a beat, and faster Wi-Fi is on the way for all planes! In addition, Southwest is adding in-seat power ports and larger overhead bins on their new 737 Max 8 aircraft, with plans to upgrade existing planes as well.
Plus, Southwest plans to enhance their app to make your travel smoother. These upgrades are quite welcome, though we do miss the days of "checked bags fly free".
