Both Disney World and Universal Orlando offer ways to pay extra to bypass standby lines for a quicker experience. At Disney World, you can buy a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, while Universal offers an Express Pass, covering more rides but generally costing more.
Disney also offers a Lightning Lane Single Pass, akin to a pay-per-ride system. Recently, Universal started testing a similar system, called Express Pass Single Attraction Access, at two rides: Revenge of the Mummy and Skull Island: Reign of Kong. These new signs included a QR code, allowing visitors to purchase a single attraction express pass for $25.
Interestingly, these signs disappeared quickly, possibly due to short standby lines, making the pass less appealing at that time. Universal is definitely exploring options, potentially aiming for crowds at places like Epic Universe.
It begs the question: Is Universal taking a page from Disney's playbook? What do you think about these pay-to-skip-line features? Would you use them for major rides? Share your thoughts in the comments!
