When it comes to Walt Disney World, many longtime Disney fans have their own small traditions they’ve developed over the years. Whether it’s a specific order they move around the parks, designated spots where they always take vacation photos, a particular meal they always eat, etc.

Luminous: The Symphony of US

Personally, I’ve developed several over the 30+ years I’ve been visiting Disney parks, including a very sweet — in more ways than one — way I like to end my days at EPCOT.

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

As I’m sure everyone reading this is aware, each night at EPCOT ends with a fireworks spectacular on the World Showcase Lagoon. Over the park’s 40+ year existence, there have been several presentations, including Carnival de Lumiere, Laserphonic Fantasy, various versions of IllumiNations (including the long-running Reflections of Earth), Harmonious, EPCOT Forever, and the current presentation, Luminous: The Symphony of Us.

While many view the show from the shores around the World Showcase Lagoon — which I would still recommend for the first time one sees the show — I like to do something a bit different during most of my visits. I’ll head over to the Norway Pavilion and pop into the Kringla Bakeri og Cafe.

Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe

There, I’ll pick up one of the iconic School Bread Rolls. These well-known EPCOT treats — a sweet roll filled with custard and dipped in coconut — had long been a favorite of many EPCOT guests, including myself and many members of our Magical Guides team.

From there, I’ll pop out the back door to the small seating area that looks out onto the walkway that circles World Showcase and the lagoon beyond it. From there, I’ll watch the show from a comfortable seat while enjoying my sweet treat instead of being crammed into a massive crowd.

Kringla seating (during the day)

Now, I do have to note that, between being set back from the walkway, looking over people’s heads, and the presence of the roof that covers the seating area, there are some portions of the show that are tough to see. So once again, I would NOT recommend this for anyone’s first or second viewing of Luminous. However, if you’ve seen the show several times, it can be a fun and more relaxing way to enjoy the vibe and atmosphere of the fireworks… and enjoy some School Bread to boot!
