Even if you’ve been to Disney World 5, 10, or dozens of times, there are likely activities you’ve never done and hidden secrets you haven’t uncovered!
Let’s go on a scavenger hunt!
We’re big fans of the scavenger hunts throughout the property, where you get to explore in a new way and typically get a fun little prize at the end. One such scavenger hunt is tucked away in Magic Kingdom, and not many folks know about it. Plus, it has a really awesome prize!
A Pirate’s Adventure — Treasures of the Seven Seas is a pirate-themed scavenger hunt throughout Adventureland in Magic Kingdom. To participate, you’ll sign up at the small building located next to Golden Oak Outpost and across from Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe.
Look for this building!
The building is typically only open in the middle of the day (from around 11AM-5PM), but if you have a little time to kill or you love interactive games, this is a great activity to squeeze into your Magic Kingdom trip. When you sign up, you’ll get assigned one of five maps to play. Each has a different mission.
Three of the maps
The scavenger hunt takes you on a tour of Adventureland, and you’ll likely discover spots you’ve never even noticed! There are interactive exhibits that work alongside your map to guide you. You’ll also be given a small card to scan at the tap points to start each interaction.
Using the map
Not only is this activity pretty fun, but it also offers a unique prize! There are five different maps you can get in total, and once you complete three of them, you’ll be given a FREE Lightning Lane to Pirates of the Caribbean.
In front of the ride
Not very many people know about this hack, but we’ll warn you that it could be a little time-consuming. We expect it would take the average park-goer a little over an hour to complete three maps. Doing one map is a fun little adventure, but committing to three of them takes a decent portion of your day.
One of the interactive exhibits
Also, you’ll need to complete all three maps before the time that the sign-up building closes, since you have to go there at the end to get your Lightning Lane. So if you want to go this route, we’d recommend starting no later than 3:30PM.
The scavenger hunt
Ultimately, this is a really fun hidden prize that people don’t typically know about, but it might actually take you longer than waiting in the line for Pirates of the Caribbean. The ride sometimes gets an hour-long wait, but on a typical day, it’s usually shorter than that.
