Visiting Walt Disney World comes with a fair share of rules, both official and unwritten. One specific rule that particularly irks parents is the requirement for everyone, including children, to exit strollers during the security check at the theme parks.
Having covered these parks for seven years, I've heard this gripe frequently from parents in my discussions with them. The general security process involves bag checks and metal detectors, and it can be a hassle for families with young kids in strollers.
At Walt Disney World, strollers are subject to additional guidelines: sizes are restricted to 31” in width and 52” in length, stroller wagons aren't allowed, strollers can’t go on escalators, and trams require children to be removed from their strollers. Plus, unattended belongings shouldn’t be left in strollers, and Cast Members may move strollers for operational needs.
While these rules are necessary, they can be inconvenient for parents who just want an easy entrance into the park with their kids. Despite these challenges, proper planning and preparation can lead to a magical Disney experience. What's your take on Disney's rules? Have any rules frustrated you during your visits?
