According to the Orlando Sentinel, Royal Caribbean has ambitious plans stretching into the future! They've mapped out new ships and destination launches up until 2028. These exciting developments were recently unveiled during a media cruise on the Star of the Seas.
Star of the Seas is the latest addition to Royal Caribbean’s Icon class, following Icon of the Seas. Coming in 2026 is Legend of the Seas, as previously announced by the company. They have plenty more in store, which was highlighted during this special media sailing.
Royal Caribbean is building the fourth Icon class ship, debuting in 2027, featuring innovative activities and amenities. There's even talk of a potential fifth and sixth ship in this lineup.
The Oasis class is expanding too, with Utopia of the Seas offering popular 3- and 4-night itineraries from Port Canaveral. This ship marks the sixth in the Oasis class, and plans for a seventh are underway. Additionally, they are introducing a smaller Discovery Series of ships.
This fall marks the opening of the first Royal Caribbean beach club in Nassau, where guests can enjoy various zones catering to families, party-goers, and those seeking relaxation. More beach clubs are expected in Cozumel in 2026 and Lelepa in 2027.
Royal Caribbean will also introduce Perfect Day Mexico in 2027, promising a larger guest area than CocoCay, complete with a massive waterpark, neighborhoods, and the world's longest lazy river.
I find these expansions quite intriguing! They're clearly pushing the boundaries of cruise experiences. What are your thoughts on Royal Caribbean's grand plans? Do you have a preferred cruise line? Share with us in the comments!
