We headed overseas for our latest Disney food review!
Our meal
During a visit to Disneyland Paris Resort to check out the BRAND-NEW World of Frozen at the newly-named Disney Adventure World, we stopped by Paris’ version of Disney Springs/Downtown Disney to try a classic entrée at Brasserie Rosalie! We have a lot of thoughts, so buckle up!
If you’d like to try it yourself, Brasserie Rosalie is located just opposite Lake Disney in the heart of Disney Village.
Rosalie
This spot is a table-service brasserie that offers both indoor and outdoor seating (seasonally), and you’ll find plenty of timeless classics native to both the States and France. Some popular French dishes include onion soup, Burgundy snails, roasted French chicken supreme, mussels in Isigny cream sauce, and profiteroles.
A look inside
If you’re in a rush and don’t have time to sit down, Le Comptoir is a counter option attached to the restaurant that offers a selection of on-the-go sandwiches, salads, and pastries.
Pretty views!
During our visit, we tried the Classic Pepper Steak with French Fries for €27.50…and we have thoughts. This is a simple steak, but some of the best steaks anyone could have are kept simple. When the natural flavors of the meat combine with some seasoning, magic happens. But we’ve dealt with inconsistencies in food quality at Disneyland Paris, so we were nervous, nevertheless.
Classic Pepper Steak
Fortunately, we found this meal neither outstanding nor offensive. To put it bluntly: This dish was okay. Our steak was cooked to our medium-rare request, and it had a nice pink center. What’s weird, though, is that it was served fairly cold. We’re used to our steaks being served piping hot or at least warm, so it’s safe to say we were taken aback. It’s tough to pinpoint what went wrong. It’s possible it was left to rest too long, and the issue fell on service rather than the chefs — which is a shame, because the seasoning and flavor were both hits with us.
Great color
The fries were also imperfect. Good, but imperfect. We found them to be a bit floppy, but they still tasted pretty good with the right amount of salt.
French fries
We thought our pepper sauce was on the thinner side and added a nice glossiness to the steak. Definitely dip your steak in this if you end up trying it, because the pepper flavor really shines. We got a glass of red wine with our meal, thinking it would pair nicely. We’re happy to report that we were correct!
Red wine
So did this meal change our opinion of the quality of food at Disneyland Paris? Nah, not really. It was decent, but didn’t blow our socks off. Being served a cold steak was a massive misstep by the restaurant, and the dish was below average for a French steak frites meal. But, hey — Disneyland Paris’ food reputation needs a win, and this was better than a lot of meals we’ve had at the Parisian resort.
