Oh, Animal Kingdom, how we love your food. Some parks are known for their incredible snacks, like EPCOT, and others where we struggle to find our go-to (cough, cough, Magic Kingdom), but Animal Kingdom is one of those you might not expect to have the best food, but it does.

NEW pods have landed at Animal Kingdom!
When we heard that Satu’li Canteen released a few new menu items, and one of them was incredible steamed buns, we immediately grabbed our safari hats and headed to Pandora.
First up, we had the Spicy Pork Steamed “Pods” for $14.29, which are served with root vegetable chips and crunchy vegetable slaw.

Spicy Pork Steamed “Pods”
Look at that color! We love the Cheeseburger Pods here, so we’re not surprised that we also loved these. These were a bit firmer than the cheeseburger pods, and there was a good amount of filling with pulled pork, red and green peppers, and a bit of onion. The vegetables in it give it a slight crunch that contrasts with the soft pork. The pepper pieces give it a bit of freshness and texture but also a hint of spice in the end. The heat lingers after eating, but it’s not super intense. Each bite is flavorful, and the pork is savory and smoky without being heavily sauced. We really enjoyed these and might need to add them to our pod lineup!

We loved these!
Then we went for the Chai Cold Brew with Rum for $15.50, which is made with Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, Bols triple Sec Liqueur, mango puree, Minute Maid Orange Juicy, chamoy, and ginger beer with a chili-lime rimmed glass garnished with a dehydrated blood orange wheel.

Chai Cold Brew with Rum
While it has a long description with a lot of flavors, we mostly felt like this was a cold brew with some chai flavoring and whipped cream on top. We tasted the bitterness of the cold brew, which was bold and prominent. Instead of having the warm spice of chai, it was mostly coffee and not overly sweet, even once the whipped cream melted in. You can taste the rum in each sip, which has a distinct flavor that lingers after, and we’re not sure it really matched the cold brew and chai since the balance felt a little off. If you’re a massive cold brew fan and want it with an alcoholic twist, this is definitely for you.

Interesting for sure
Finally, we tried the Pandoran Sunrise with Rum for $15.50, which is made with DOLE Pineapple Juice and Minute Maid Limeade blended with POWERADE Melon and POWERADE Fruit Punch topped with Bacardi Superior Rum.

Pandoran Sunrise with Rum
This drink brought on the fruity flavors! It reminded us of a fruity cocktail with a juice-like consistency and a subtle rum taste in it. The strongest flavor was the pineapple, which brought in some sweetness, and we could taste the lime behind the pineapple, which gave it a nice tang. The rum blends more into this drink, and you can’t really taste it, so if you’re into calmer drinks, this might be for you. It’s easy to drink and refreshing, and the afternotes are more melon-focused. We appreciated that even once the sun melted the ice, it didn’t taste very watered down, and we still got solid fruity flavors.
