If you're planning a trip to Disney World, prepare yourself for an overwhelming number of dining options. You don't even have to stick to the theme parks, as numerous enticing restaurants are located in the surrounding hotels.
Recently, we visited Amare at the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, and here’s our detailed review. Curious to know if it’s a must-try on your next visit to the happiest place on earth?
**Atmosphere**
Amare, located within the Swan Reserve, draws inspiration from Mediterranean flavors and ingredients, emphasizing fresh items like seafood, citrus, and pitas. The restaurant features a Mediterranean-centric wine list too, and its design feels upscale yet casual, with a light, airy décor filled with blue tones and wood accents. The open kitchen adds to the experience, allowing diners to watch their meal preparation. Amare serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner; dinner reservations are advisable.
**The Menu**
The menu features a variety of mezze, salads, entrees, and a whole hummus section, plus special kid-friendly dishes. The drink menu includes a broad selection of wines, beer, and specialty cocktails.
**Food**
We tried Amare’s Signature Ishkabubble Bread for $19, featuring house-made pita with three dips: red pepper muhammara, garlic yogurt, and jalapeno shatta. It was huge, fluffy, and addictive thanks to the savory spices. Among the dips, the Red Pepper Muhammara was a standout with its sweet and spicy balance.
For our main course, we had Grilled Souvlaki with Angus Beef Skewers for $37, served with sides like crispy potatoes and tabbouleh. The skewer was flavorful, complementing the mint pesto, though a bit chewy. The grilled pita was perfect—soft with a slight char—and a great match for the various dipping sauces.
**Drinks**
The Journey through Greece Wine Flight for $23 was a highlight, with an excellent selection providing a sample of Greek varietals. Each had distinct flavors, but the Red Blend Peloponnese impressed us most with its complex notes from fruity to cocoa aftertastes.
**Should You Try It?**
Amare is a great pick if you're looking for a memorable sit-down meal with an impressive wine selection and are open to exploring new dishes. On the other hand, pickier eaters or those seeking a quick meal might want to consider other options. Our experience with the attentive staff and the relaxed yet classy vibe made it a delightful dining experience.
Have you tried Amare? Share your thoughts! If not, does it sound like a place you’d like to explore on your next Disney adventure?
