After weeks of disruptions caused by the U.S. government shutdown, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has lifted its flight reduction orders. However, travel chaos isn't completely over.

Orlando International Airport (MCO) has cautioned that it will take airlines time to resume normal operations, potentially affecting holiday travel.

On November 17, 2025, the FAA lifted flight restrictions intended to reduce air traffic controller fatigue during the extended shutdown. Although staffing is reportedly stable now, airlines, including Southwest, warn it may take several weeks to return to normalcy.

If you’re traveling this holiday season, keep tabs on your airline's updates to avoid surprises.

I think the persistent delays could be frustrating for holiday travelers. How do you feel about these developments? Are you concerned about any upcoming trips? Share your thoughts!
