Attention, Disney friends! Sure, we love staying at Disney World hotels for all the amenities, easy access to the parks, and a whole lot more, but every once in a while, an unexpected issue can pop up that you’re not prepared for.

Luckily, that’s what we’re here for, though! We keep an eye out for everything you might need to know about on your upcoming Disney World trips, and THIS is exactly why we always tell you to pay attention to any signage in your hotel lobby when you’re there!
Okay, so here’s the deal, friends. There will be a scheduled power outage at the Wilderness Lodge hotel on Tuesday, April 14th, between the hours of 2 AM and 5 AM. During this time, work will be conducted that will temporarily impact electrical power in the guest rooms.

We know, we know — this isn’t ideal. The maintenance window is from 2 AM to 5 AM, which is prime sleeping time for most folks! This is routine stuff, and the good news is that the outage will only last for three hours, and you get a heads up! With that being said, though, there are a few things you might want to keep in mind as you prep for this power outage.

Make sure to charge everything up before bed! We’re talking phones, MagicBands, cameras, power banks — anything that requires a charge, make sure you plug it in well before the outage window to make sure you’re prepared and charged up in the morning.

Don’t rely on your in-room alarm clock or CPAP machine. If you do use a CPAP or have other medical device needs that require electricity, make sure you speak to the front desk so they can work with you on a solution. While not all Disney World hotel rooms still have alarm clocks, many have Alexa devices with alarm capabilities, so make sure you set a backup alarm on your phone.
Hey Disney!
Crank that A/C down, baby!!! Your room temperature will likely fluctuate, so it’s not a bad idea to get things cool before the power goes out, so it doesn’t end up getting too hot. Too hot?! In Florida? Nooooo.

Ultimately, we know this can kind of be a buzzkill, but it just means that Disney is doing maintenance work on the hotel to make sure it’s in tip-top shape for guests. By the time you’re up in the morning, you likely won’t even notice it’s happened! Of course, if you have any specific concerns or needs, make sure you talk to the front desk.
