If you’re getting ready to head out on a Disney Cruise — whether it’s your first or your fiftieth — then you need to know about these new rules that go into effect this week. As of June 3rd, seven new rules are hitting the Disney Cruise Line, so let’s check them out.
As of June 3rd, a ton of new rules go into effect on the Disney Cruise Line — starting with limiting the types and location of decorations allowed on stateroom doors. Now, door decorations can only be placed on stateroom doors themselves — not on corridor walls or ceilings.

In addition, tape, glue, and other adhesives cannot be used to attach decorations to doors, as they can damage the finish. From now on, decorations should be magnets only. Door decor should also not play any sound, music, or videos, as these can disturb guests.
Additionally, Disney has asked that guests not place anything valuable on their doors. If you don’t want it to be taken, don’t put it on your door! Disney Cruise Line is not liable for the damage or loss of items left on stateroom doors.

As far as inside the staterooms go, Disney Cruise Line is now prohibiting over-the-door hanging organizers on all doors — including bathroom and closet doors. These can cause scratches or other damage to stateroom doors and trip. This one is a bummer, as hanging toiletry organizers can be huge space-savers on cruises!

Disney Cruise Line has also updated its alcohol policy. Previously, passengers could bring two wine bottles on board per adult, but now, this is being reduced to one wine bottle or six beers per guest. These must be packed in your carry-on bag, not in checked luggage.

The good news, however, is that Disney has also updated its corkage fee — and it’s actually cheaper now. The corkage fee for those who want to bring wine into the dining rooms to drink will now be $20, down from $29.

Selfie sticks and tripods are now permitted on the Disney Cruise Line, though they must meet size requirements. Each item must fold down to under 18 inches for use in most areas of the ship. Otherwise, guests must store longer items in their staterooms and only use them ashore.
