EPCOT hosts the World Showcase, where visitors can explore a variety of international cultures without leaving Orlando. We often treat ourselves to global snacks here and tend to spend most of our time immersed in its diverse offerings.
The Japan Pavilion has introduced some updates, and we're still processing our thoughts on them. At Kabuki Cafe, you can now get Kakigori in regular and large sizes; the regular qualifies as a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. You have the option to add sweet milk, coconut creme, pineapple creme, or mandarin orange toppings for a little extra.
The price of sushi has gone up from $6.25 to $10-$12, suggesting larger portions. The Tokyo Sushi Combo, which costs $14, offers four pieces of a California Roll and three pieces of Nigiri.
But Katsura Grill has stopped serving sushi altogether, along with desserts. This was disappointing since sushi was a big draw for us to the Japan Pavilion. While Kakigori remains a delightful choice, the steeper sushi prices make those snacks less enticing.
You can still enjoy the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival until November 22nd, with unique booth offerings in the Japan Pavilion. Are these updates making you reconsider your visit to the Japan Pavilion? Let’s hear your thoughts!
