Important New Cruise Drink Package Rule You Must Know

Cruises are all about relaxation and fun, but a new rule could impact your budget planning for Royal Caribbean voyages. Traditionally, one drink package per cabin was enough, but now if one adult buys the Deluxe Beverage Package, all adults in the same cabin must also purchase it. This rule removes any previous exceptions, even for non-drinkers or those with medical reasons.

The Deluxe Beverage Package offers a variety of drinks, running between $50 and $100 per person daily, while the now-obsolete Refreshment Package was more affordable at $30 to $45.

Royal Caribbean aims to curb drink-sharing and simplify their policies with this change. Non-heavy drinkers might find paying à la carte a better option as it could be more economical, especially with Royal Caribbean's drink specials and perks for members.

If you enjoy a wide variety of beverages throughout the day, the Deluxe might still appeal. Otherwise, this rule might complicate travels for mixed drinking preference groups.

Is this policy change a dealbreaker for booking a Royal Caribbean cruise? What are your thoughts? Share in the comments!
