Along with its unique A-frame architecture, the resort is famous for the monorail that passes through it, its stunning Magic Kingdom views, the Grand Canyon Concourse, and beloved dining spots like Steakhouse 71. Surprisingly, many people miss out on the hidden gem of Steakhouse 71 Lounge, perfect for a quick bite or drink without the sit-down meal commitment.
Steakhouse 71 opened recently, replacing The Wave. The restaurant name honors 1971, the year Disney World and the Contemporary Resort began. It's ideal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, setting visitors up perfectly for a day in Magic Kingdom.
The lounge offers popular cocktails such as the 1971 Sunset and is great for a caffeine kick with espresso drinks. While it doesn’t have the full menu, light bites like crab cakes, onion rings, shrimp cocktails, and the crowd-favorite Stack Burger are available. Another delightful and unique dish, Bacon & Eggs, features maple-lacquered pork belly and smoked cheese grits.
With operating hours extending from noon to 11 PM daily, it’s a fantastic spot for late snacks. The lounge also participates in the monorail hotel bar crawl for those looking for a fun venture. Even though it doesn't officially include a kid’s menu, children can enjoy it, too.
