With the Extreme Cold Warning in Florida this week, Walt Disney World theme parks are changing the operating hours of their water rides. Their attractions typically run from the park’s opening to closing, but with the unprecedented weather, they’ve announced new hours for the safety of their guests.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Sunday, February 1st, and Monday, February 2nd, will have reduced hours for water rides across Walt Disney World. Here’s everything you need to know!

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom will only operate from 11 AM to 7 PM. The ride usually runs with Magic Kingdom’s hours from 9 AM to 9 PM. It’s a log flume ride that takes you through the New Orleans bayou – and you WILL get wet!

In Animal Kingdom, Kali River Rapids will only run from 12 PM to 6 PM. It usually matches the park hours, which are 8 AM to 8 PM. It’s a spinning water ride where you raft through the jungle – and you’re lucky if you don’t get soaked!

Both of Disney World’s water parks are currently closed until Wednesday, the 4th, due to the extreme cold.Blizzard Beach was already closed for refurbishment and is expected to open by this summer. Typhoon Lagoon is still operational, but has been shut down due to freezing temperatures this week.

North and Central Florida are currently under an Extreme Cold Watch. Temperatures will drop to freezing tonight, which is incredibly rare for the Sunshine State. Walt Disney World is preparing for the cold weather by closing water rides and covering plant beds to prevent freezing.

If you’re at the parks today, stay warm by wearing layers, staying inside as often as possible, and warming up inside or with a hot drink. There’s currently a freeze warning set for 7 PM Sunday night. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World updates!
