If your Disney adventure included plans for water slides and lazy rivers, you might need to trade your swimsuit for a cozy sweatshirt!

There's nothing quite like escaping the cold at home for some Disney World magic with sunshine, palm trees, and the holiday spirit. But even the "Most Magical Place on Earth" isn't entirely free from a winter cold snap. With cooler temperatures predicted for Central Florida this week, your planned splash-filled visit to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon might need some tweaking. It's set to temporarily close on December 11th and 12th due to the chill.

While Orlando is typically all about warm weather, cold fronts do roll in around this time of year. These weather-related closures aren't unusual when temperatures dip below Disney's ideal for water-based activities. Even with heated water attractions, a chilly wind can make for less-than-ideal conditions, especially for little ones.

But don't worry! If the water parks are closed, there are still plenty of options to explore, from hotel pools (which remain open and heated) to theme parks and resort amenities. Plus, it might just be the perfect time to dive into those indoor attractions or catch some holiday activities around the parks.

Enjoy the cooler weather, make the most of your time, and keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app for updates. And as always, check back here for the latest news and updates from Disney World.
