While we are always excited about NEW experiences coming to Disney World, that often means saying goodbye to some old favorites.

Westward Ho
Piston Peak and Villains Land have resulted in the closure of multiple offerings (some permanent, others temporary, such as the half-closed Walt Disney World Railroad track). Most recently, we saw Big Al’s close in Frontierland, and while Disney hasn’t officially said the closure is permanent, it’s looking like it is. And now, another iconic Frontierland spot has closed to make way for Magic Kingdom changes.
As of June 22nd, 2026, Westward Ho in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland is officially closed. Disney hasn’t made any official announcements about the closure, but when we stopped by, everything was shut down with no indication of reopening anytime soon. It’s also no longer listed on the My Disney Experience app, even when you try to search for it.

This is very similar to what we saw happen with Big Al’s — suddenly, no times were showing on the website, and sure enough, the stand closed down that same day.

We’ve already seen one of the dining options unique to this spot, the Candied Bacon Skewer, move to Golden Oak Outpost, and while we’re relieved it’ll still be available, we’re sad to see this spot go. We also have to admit that we’re worried about one of our other favorite eats here, the Mickey-shaped Bacon-Pecan-Caramel Cinnamon Roll! It’s one of our favorites, and we’ll be devastated (no, not an exaggeration) if it doesn’t move elsewhere.
That’s some thick bacon!
It’s possible that with the opening of Piston Peak in the future, we’ll see the snack stand open back up as something more themed to the new area, but, of course, Disney hasn’t announced anything officially. So, for now, we’ll have to wait and see what ends up happening!
