If you hopped onto Disney+ this weekend to enjoy your favorite Disney movies, a Star Wars series, or catch up on "Only Murders In The Building" on Hulu, you may have noticed a significant change.
The Disney+ app has been revamped! It seems Disney is gearing up for the merger with Hulu by rolling out some updates. So, don't be surprised if your app looks different.
Disney+ is currently releasing big changes to its app. Once you update, you'll see a newly designed homepage. The major alteration is a horizontal navigation bar with tabs for "For You," Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN. Disney also promises more tailored recommendations based on your viewing history.
Switching profiles has become simpler, allowing kids to have child-friendly content on their profiles, while adult content remains separate. Disney has also released a video showcasing these changes.
This redesign is part of Disney's plan to fully integrate Hulu into Disney+ by 2026. It's unclear if the Hulu tab will remain or if its content will be integrated into Disney+ programming. Additionally, Hulu + Live TV will eventually merge with Fubo, creating a Live TV experience to compete with YouTube TV, amid Disney's ongoing dispute with YouTube TV over a carriage agreement that led Disney to pull its content from their platform.
We'll keep you updated with more Disney+ news.
