Flying comes with a set of rules you need to know, including those about luggage, typically allowing a personal item and a carry-on. Also, the liquid restrictions might be relaxing soon.

Security measures at airports are evolving, and biometric scanning is now part of the screening process. When you pass through TSA, a photo of your face is compared with your ID, ensuring everything matches, but these photos are swiftly deleted and not stored in any database.

Recently, at Orlando International Airport, signs notified passengers that a photo would also be taken as they approach the boarding gate, processed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This photo comparison is part of identity verification, but like the first, it will be deleted within 12 hours. If you're not comfortable with this, you can request personal identity verification from a gate agent.

This biometric scanning is optional, offering ways to verify identity manually if preferred. Preparing for this could mean being photographed twice before flying if you opt in.
