When it comes to staying at a Walt Disney World hotel, timing can be everything.

Skyliner at night

If you’re lodging at visiting Disney World in 2026, there are some somewhat strict curfews you need to be aware of, especially if you’re planning to grab a bite or take a swim after a long day at the theme parks.

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

The Buses Do Stop

While it may feel like Disney World’s complimentary bus service is constantly running, hotel bus service actually ends one hour after the scheduled closure from all of Disney’s theme parks as well as Disney Springs.

The Skyliner Has a HARD Stop

Since its introduction in 2019, the Disney World Skyliner – the gondola system which connects Hollywood Studios and EPCOT with the Riviera, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, and Art of Animation resorts – has become one of the resort’s most popular methods of transportation.

However, if you plan on using it on your next trip, there’s something you must keep in mind. The Skyliner tends to stop running 90 minutes after Hollywood Studios or EPCOT (whichever is later) ends its operating day. However, this is a slight amendment to be made…

What About Extended Evening Hours?

When EPCOT offers Extended Evening Hours, the Skyliner will close one hour after the extended hours end. During this time, it will only offer transportation to Disney’s Riviera Resort, as Extended Evening Hours are exclusive to Deluxe Tier Hotel guests.

Better Plan for that Late Night Dip…

Disney World hotel pools are generally open until 10:00 or 11:00 (with the latter in the warmer months of the year), so you may need to leave the park early to squeeze in a late dip depending on your hotel’s location. However, pools aren’t the only hotel amenity that has a curfew.

… and the Late Night Snack

In addition to pools, quick-service dining locations, and food courts at Disney hotels generally close at 11:00 PM (including Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at the Polynesian), while table service dining seating generally ends at 10:00 PM.

So, once again, depending on your hotel’s location and which park you’re coming from, you may not be able to stay until close and make it back to your resort in time for a snack. For example, if you’re staying at say The Boardwalk, you can easily walk out of EPCOT after Luminous and stroll to the hotel with time to spare for a snack, a swim, or both.

However, if you’re traveling from the Magic Kingdom to, say, Pop Century after closing time, odds are slim to none that you’ll make it back in time to find an open Everything Pop! or Hippy Dippy Pool.

You may have to head back early to make sure you score some late-night nachos.

If you’re planning a Walt Disney World hotel stay this summer, keep these curfews in mind as you’re laying out your ideal Disney days. Stay tuned to Magical Guides for more hotel tips.
