If something goes viral online, it’s bound to make its way to Disney World at some point in the near future, and we’ve seen it happen firsthand.

Some things deserve a spot in the lineup while others should just keep moving along. We’re here to talk about FOUR viral food trends that have entered the “Disney World Bubble” and determine if they should be here to stay or if they should be dumped from the island.

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

Ube EVERYTHING

Ube (pronounced oo-beh) has become increasingly popular around the world, mostly thanks to its vibrant purple color. The color actually comes from a Philippine yam, and anything it’s added to instantly gets that beautiful shade of purple. Currently, there are nearly 40 dining locations around Disney World serving something with Ube in it. Some of these items include the Ube Yum Yum Coconut Cookie from Earl of Sandwich

…and most recently, the Motunui Ube Sundae made with Ube soft serve with Tropical Fruits, Coconut, Raspberry Crumbs, and Macadamia from the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck in Animal Kingdom.

This viral food has been a part of A LOT of Disney food items over the last couple of years, so we don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon. We actually don’t mind the flavors of Ube, especially when it comes to a sweet treat, so we’re okay with it sticking around for now!

Dubai Chocolate

After months of the Dubai Chocolate trend being around, Disney finally decided to hop on board the train and add its own spin on this viral food. Dubai Chocolate is a chocolate bar filled with pistachio cream, tahini, and shredded crispy pieces called kataifi. It all started last year with a Dubai Style Chocolate Sundae at Ghirardelli in Disney Springs, but recently, we’ve seen specialty chocolate bars, coffees, cookies, and so much more becoming a part of a lot of menus.

Right now, you can grab two things from The Ganachery in Disney Springs — the Chocolate-Pistachio Sipper, which is Chocolate Milk topped with Pistachio Cream and served in a Cracking Dark Chocolate Cup, and the Milk Chocolate-Pistachio Squares made with a Milk Chocolate Shell with a filling of Pistachios, Tahini, and Crispy Wafers.

And at the Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company location in the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT, you can find the Dubai Chocolate Frozen Cappuccino in a non-alcoholic or alcoholic version. This was an EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival menu item, but it is still listed on the current menu, so grab it while you can!

Personally, I think this trend is WAY overhyped, so if it disappeared from the Disney World menus, I wouldn’t be opposed.

Freeze-Dried Skittles

Another food trend that went viral surrounds the fruity candy Skittles. It went so viral that the brand even made a whole product around it — SKITTLES POP’d, and that’s what Disney World uses in their food items. The candy is freeze-dried to make them puffy and crunchy rather than soft and chewy. Some places you can find this viral food around property are at Everything POP Shopping & Dining at Pop Century Resort for their Cake Bar, which is a Cake Pop with Buttercream and SKITTLES POP’d Freeze Dried Candy…

…and the Hand-dipped Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar with SKITTLES POP’d Original Freeze-Dried Candy at Anandapur Ice Cream Truck in Animal Kingdom.

I think this viral food trend is FUN and would love to see it stick around, but other members on our team tend to disagree, so it’s really up to your flavor profile!

Every Croissant Flavor To Ever Exist

Disney World, especially Pop Century Resort, is known for having the most chaotic croissant flavors. What started out as one exotic croissant flavor has turned into tens! Specifically, you can find the Cookie Butter Croissant at Everything POP Shopping & Dining at Pop Century Resort…

…and the GIANT chocolate-dipped Croiss Oh La La at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in the France Pavilion in EPCOT. Any day I’m eating a croissant is a good day, so keep these flavors coming, Disney!

While some of these items are extremely delicious and deserve a permanent spot on menus throughout Disney World, others should primarily stick to being social media trends. Follow us at Magical Guides for more viral trends in Disney, along with Disney news, updates, tips, and tricks!
