Disney World is CHANGING, and it’s all starting in 2026! New lands, new attractions, new restaurants, and much more are coming to the parks this year. With all these changes happening, it’s no wonder that we Disney Adults need to follow a few new rules this year.

Magic Kingdom

If you’re heading to the parks in 2026, please consider these unspoken rules for Disney World this year. Unlike in other years, these “rules” will help you out now that the parks are looking a bit different.

Securing Our Lounge Reservations FIRST

As Disney Adults, you’ll definitely want to check out the new lounges in the parks this year! In 2025, Disney opened two new lounges, one in EPCOT and one in Magic Kingdom. GEO-82 is the new lounge in EPCOT that is in Spaceship Earth, while The Beak and Barrel is the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge in Magic Kingdom.

GEO-82 is for those 21 years and older, but the whole family can enjoy the theatrical Beak and Barrel.

These two lounges have continued to be popular since they opened, and if you want to check them out (which we highly recommend), you’ll need to make reservations. Reservations can disappear rather quickly for both lounges, so in order to ensure you actually get a seat, you may want to change your reservation game and grab these FIRST.

Usually, you might want to grab a very popular table-service restaurant first, but now we recommend changing your own rules and grabbing a reservation for Beak and Barrel or GEO-82 first if they are a priority for you.

Waiting To Go to Disney World Until 2027

If you’re prepping for a BIG trip that will extend for a week or longer, we might actually say hold off on doing it until 2027. 2026 is a big construction year for Disney World, with a lot of the new attractions and experiences opening in 2027 (or later). So instead of taking a really big and long trip this year, wait one more year.

That being said, quick trips to Disney World this year might be the way to go. Dropping by for a weekend getaway, hitting up a special event like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, or Jollywood Nights, or just visiting for a few days with the intention of only doing a few things, could be a better way to do Disney World in 2026.

Jollywood Nights

If you can swing shorter, quicker trips this year and save up for a BIG trip next year, we would suggest doing so while we’re in a building year at the parks. Then, you’ll have more time to experience all the brand-new things in 2027!

You do not want to miss out on the new lounges, Geo 82 and Beak and Barrel, but you gotta make a reservation if you want a chance at getting into these popular spots. And if you’re gearing up for a BIG week-long or longer trip to Disney World, you might wanna wait a year, because even more new things are on the horizon.

In the meantime, take advantage of those small trips to Disney World for festivals and events! And remember, we’re here at Magical Guides to help you make the best of your trip, no matter how quick or long it is.
