There’s one Disney World hotel that is a hot commodity right now!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has been through a major transition phase these past few years. With new dining, some updated rooms, and changes to the lobby, there’s a lot to experience here. So, should you join the trend and book a stay here? Let’s dive into some of the big updates.
One of the most noticeable changes at the Grand Floridian lately is the new lobby! In 2025, the lobby makeover was completed with new furniture, carpet, and paint. There’s also an entirely new check-in area.

Perhaps one of our favorite new details about the lobby is the Grand Floridian mural at the top of the grand staircase. Post-refurbishment, the whole lobby has more of a Florida feel to it with brighter colors and outdoor-inspired patterns.
If you haven’t stayed at the Grand Floridian Resort in a few years, the dining options have changed a LOT. First up, there’s now a birdcage-inspired lobby bar called The Perch. It has some really stunning architecture and a menu of sophisticated beverages.

Coming soon to the Grand Floridian lobby is the newly renovated Garden View Tea Room. This dining experience has been closed since the pandemic, but will reopen on March 19th with an Alice in Wonderland-inspired tea menu.

A few years ago, Disney reopened the beloved 1900 Park Fare after a multi-year closure, now with new characters! The meal here now features Mirabel, Tiana, Aladdin, and Cinderella, and they serve a buffet for breakfast and dinner. It’s one of Disney World’s more popular character dining options.

So, adding these new options to the spots that were already fan favorites, like Victoria & Albert’s, Enchanted Rose Lounge, and Grand Floridian Cafe, there are SO many great places to eat while you’re staying here.
The other great reason it may be time for a stay at the Grand Floridian? A few years back, the Disney Vacation Club rooms at this resort were renovated with a Mary Poppins theme. They got new furnishings, floors, decor, and color palettes.

Keep in mind that the regular hotel rooms here have NOT been updated. So make sure you book a DVC room for the nicer accommodations.
Grand Floridian is quickly becoming one of our favorite hotels to visit in Disney World, and many other fans share that opinion!
