Bring on the evil!!! Ever since Disney announced a new Villains Land would be coming to the Magic Kingdom, I have been rewatching all of the Disney classics, trying to get any glimpse into what might be coming to the new land.

Could there be a Hades underground roller coaster? A Queen of Hearts maze? A Maleficent meet and greet? Or, will this be bigger than any of us are thinking?
On a forum, poster Lentesta said, “I’m hearing the initial plans for Villaisn Land have been scrapped. Imagineers have been told to think bigger, bolder ideas. Budget secondary.” While it’s possible this is just a rumor, if it’s true, can you imagine the Villains Land we could get?
Disney has been very quiet about plans for Villains Land, unlike other lands currently being worked on in Disney World. We haven’t been told of any specific attractions, characters, restaurants, or stores, and have only seen one piece of concept art, which looks pretty vague. If this poster is correct, the original vague plans could be turning into something bigger than we could imagine.

In the concept art, we could see a roller coaster, but that’s about it. Could this be one of the greatest roller coasters ever? The whole space, which is currently being worked on behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, is pretty large and has a lot of potential. Piston Peak, the Cars-themed land taking over the old Tom Sawyer Island, is also near the Villains Land space and Big Thunder Mountain and will host two attractions, including an off-road racing ride.

Other projects Disney has been working on have been pretty ambitious. Pueblo Esperanza in Animal Kingdom is getting three attractions, including a brand-new Encanto ride, which hasn’t been done before.

Monstropolis will also have a hanging door roller coaster, which will be a new concept for Disney. You’ll be able to sit in the chair, and a lift will pick you up, just like the doors in the Monsters, Inc. movie.

Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s newest third park, which opened in May 2025, has been complimented for its incredible attractions. From huge, thrilling roller coasters, outrageously themed lands, and overly detailed animatronics, Disney might be feeling the pressure to make Villains Land even better. While Universal Monsters and Disney Villains are on different sides of the “scary spectrum,” it’s hard not to compare Dark Universe, one of the lands in Epic Universe, to the new Villains Land.

Josh D’Amaro was recently announced to be the next Chief Executive Officer of the Walt Disney Company, and since he has a very strong background in Disney Experiences, we’re crossing our fingers that Villains Land turns out to be something truly spectacular. If you could design your own Villains Land, what would you add? Tell us in the comments, and make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more news about Disney Parks.
