Winter is an interesting time to visit Disneyland. On the one hand, this time of year brings the Lunar New Year Celebration to Disney California Adventure, which is always a lot of fun (and the food is GREAT, too!). The weather isn’t bad (it’s usually not too hot and not too cold). But there is one downside of visiting Disneyland this time of year…refurbishments.
Space Mountain in Disneyland
Ride refurbishments and maintenance have to happen to keep rides running, and generally, a lot of it happens in the early part of the year. Well, one ride will close soon in Disneyland, while two rides in California Adventure are set to close soon for refurbishment, but the good news is that they’ll only be closed for a short time.
Okay, let’s start in Disneyland. Space Mountain (the superior Space Mountain, in my opinion) is set to close on February 23rd, according to the Disneyland calendar. However, it will be a short closure, and the ride will reopen on February 27th. So it’s only going to be closed for a few days. Not bad at all!

Over in California Adventure, Jumpin’ Jellyfish is scheduled to close on February 23rd for a short while. It will reopen on March 6th.

Nearby, Golden Zephyr is scheduled to close on March 9th for a short refurbishment, with its reopening scheduled for March 18th.

We would also like to remind you of the Jungle Cruise closure that’s coming up soon, too. Jungle Cruise will close on February 17th and reopene on February 22nd.
Granted, we only know what the Disneyland calendar is showing us, so these rides could reopen earlier or later than what’s currently scheduled. We highly recommend checking the Disneyland website or Disneyland app to see what days and hours rides are open.
We’ll keep an eye out for more ride closures, so stay tuned to Magical Guides for more.
What do you think about these ride closures? Let us know in the comments!
