There are lots of popular rides around Disney World for many different reasons, but over in Magic Kingdom, you’ll rarely find one more popular (especially among families) than Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
This family-friendly coaster is tons of fun, isn’t too overwhelming for those not used to coasters, and we love the theming and elements inside. However, if we’re being honest, there are a few things about this ride, or about experiencing this ride, that would make it MUCH better. If we were in charge, these are the NEW rules we’d put in place for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
We know, we know, a single rider line at this attraction would likely take a little longer than others since the ride only seats two people per row, but hey, WE’LL TAKE IT! Many guests, including Disney adults and people who head to the parks on their own or split up from their party to make sure everyone can do what they’d like, are begging for a single rider line at this attraction.
The line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train backed up
Since this is a family coaster and many groups choose to ride together, we’re thinking that it’s possible that a single rider line wouldn’t get *too* backed up. Regardless, having one available would allow for an additional option — it doesn’t take away the chance to ride with your family, but allows an additional line for other guests who don’t want to wait 50+ minutes to just ride on their own!
Alright, if we can’t have a single rider line in general, then we have another request. The queue has a really cool section that kiddos often love — it’s got all those barrels you can spin, and if they all get spun at the same time, you’ll see a special picture/projection in the ceiling! However, we’re the first to admit that for many people, that section of the line is just WAY too loud.
It’s cool, but it’s LOUD
We would love for there to be an option to bypass this section of the line — not to skip any of it at all, or cut in front of people, but just to wait the same amount of time in a different line to avoid sensory overload. This is especially true if you happen to get stuck at this spot for a while. You’ll walk out of there with your eye twitching for sure (we know because it’s happened to us before…many times). Perhaps this is where single riders could be singled out, since the majority of them would be fine to bypass this section.
The rocking of the mine carts is fantastic for those who want the full experience and don’t struggle with motion sickness, but for those who do? Yeah, those rocking carts are NOT ideal.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
The carts are designed to move back and forth with the motion of the ride, as well as the weight of who is on board, and while it’s not overwhelming, it can really affect those with moderate to severe motion sickness. Right now, there’s no other option to ride for those who are concerned, and we think it would be great if there were 1-2 carts, even just at the back of the trains, that don’t rock back and forth. This way, more people could enjoy the ride without having to worry about feeling gross for the next hour.
Some rides in Disney World have specific areas you can wait in if you want to ride in the front row, but Seven Dwarfs Mine Train isn’t one of those. As it currently stands, there’s no waiting area for those wanting to ride in row 1, and we think this ride could benefit from one!

We know there are lots of guests who are willing to wait a few trains to ride in the front, especially for this ride, so while it would require a little bit of construction, we think this could be beneficial for the ride.
