A lot of big things are currently happening at Disneyand Resort, including Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration (which is basically just a HUGE party in the parks). However, another big celebration will be coming to Disney California Adventure soon, and it’s promising to bring a lot of new things to that park.
Disney California Adventure
Yes, Disney California Adventure is turning 25, and Disney just revealed details about how it plans to celebrate this huge milestone.
Disney California Adventure first opened its gates on February 8th, 2001, and now, 25 years later, the park is celebrating its 25th birthday. Disney is sharing that celebration with visitors to the park by bringing back Soarin’ Over California for a limited time from February 6th through July 1st.

That’s not all, though. On February 6th, Mickey and Minnie will have all-new vibrant outfits with sun motifs as they meet guests on Buena Visita Street. They’ll be wearing these outfits, which are a nod to the park’s history, for a limited time, so you’ll want to grab a photo with them ASAP.

There’s also special celebratory food, including the Cake Shake at Schmoozies! This is a confetti shake with strawberry icing, sprinkles, whipped topping, and a slice of cake.

A new interactive popcorn bucket is also coming to California Adventure. The Pixar Pal-A-Round Bucket will react with changing colors and lighting patterns to select locations in the park. You’ll be able to grab it as of February 6th, and well, we think this baby will sell out fast!

You can’t have a celebration without merchandise, so you’ll find the Disney California Adventure 25th Anniversary Collection hitting stores in the park beginning on February 6th. This collection features artwork with stylized illustrations of some of the park’s most iconic locations and symbols.

If you visit California Adventure on its actual anniversary date, February 8th, you’ll be able to grab a special commemorative map for FREE while they last. So you’ll certainly want to rope drop for that!
If you book a dining reservation at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel on or after February 6th, you’ll get to meet a new character there, Humphry the Bear, a character who starred in several Disney animated shorts. In case you didn’t know it, the Grand Californian Hotel is also celebrating its 25th anniversary!

Acorns Gifts & Goods, the gift shop at the Grand Californian Hotel, will also have a limited edition 25th Anniversary Pin.

Downtown Disney turned 25 on January 12th, so you’ll be able to grab a Pin celebrating that, too!
