My Favorite Relaxing Disney World Activity Is About To Get a LOT More Complicated

I’m lucky to be a somewhat local Disney World Annual Passholder, and that means my approach to the parks is a little bit different than, say, someone on a week-long vacation.

Wildlife Express

For the most part, my visits to the parks are all about simply having a good time — which usually involves grabbing a drink, some good eats, and taking in a ride or two. But, one of my favorite relaxing Disney World activities is about to get a LOT more complicated — and I’m not sure I’ll ever recover.

On any given Disney World day, you can find me (with my husband in tow) at Animal Kingdom. This has become one of our favorite Disney World parks since becoming passholders, because we find it pretty darn relaxing compared to the others. It’s especially relaxing when we grab dinks (for me, a Ngumu Jungle Juice, and for my husband, an Old Elephant Foot IPA) and head to Conservation Station on the Wildlife Express train.

The Wildlife Express

It’s a great way to escape the crowds and head to a spot with animals, unique experiences, and more — or at least, it was. You see, the Wildlife Express train and Conservation Station have been closed as Disney makes way for a new experience. Bluey’s Wild World is opening at Conservation Station on May 26th, and that means the whole area will change.

Conservation Station

Adults and kiddos alike will get to play special games directly from Bluey episodes as part of this new experience, grab a photo with Bluey and Bingo, and even discover animals native to Bluey’s home country, Australia, at Jumping Junction. This whole area will now be all about Bluey, which is great for Bluey fans, but not so great for fans of relaxing train rides and air-conditioned spaces with little to no crowds.

Bluey and Bingo

It’s no secret that Bluey is POPULAR, and this new experience no doubt will be, too. We’re anticipating some serious crowds when Bluey’s Wild World opens, and crowds aren’t exactly relaxing. The lines for the Wildlife Express train will likely be long, and as far as Conservation Station goes, we’re expecting it to be way more crowded than it has been in recent history.

While I’m excited to check out this new experience, I’m still in mourning for what I considered to be one of my favorite Disney World activities.

Affection Section

But, starting on May 26th, folks will be able to play games and dance with Bluey and Bingo at Conservation Station at Animal Kingdom! And, with the news about native Australian animals coming, we might even get to see kangaroos, wallabies, or koalas — and considering kookaburras are already found at Animal Kingdom, we might see them moved to this area, too. The full details of this new experience are yet to be announced, but we’re looking forward to learning more details.
