We must admit, when we first encountered [How To Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk](https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/how-to-train-your-dragon-isle-of-berk-at-universals-epic-universe/) in [Epic Universe](https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/epic-universe-universal-orlando-resort/), the depth of immersion left us awestruck. It felt like dragons truly existed—Toothless seemed so authentic. Yet, something felt lacking.

Before Epic Universe opened, [Universal Orlando hinted at flying dragons over the land](https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2025/03/15/this-is-the-best-new-epic-universe-addition-universal-has-announced-so-far/). Unfortunately, this didn’t materialize, which was quite disappointing. But guess what? Dragons have been seen soaring over Isle of Berk, and we’re thrilled!

Thanks to @EYNTKinfo, a video shows a dragon flying over Isle of Berk. It seems to be Hookfang, a Monstrous Nightmare dragon from the *How to Train Your Dragon* film. Check it out—it's quite a sight!

These 'dragons' are essentially drones crafted to look like dragons. Despite promising frequent sightings, Universal hasn’t updated us since the park's opening in May. There might have been technical or safety hurdles to clear. Considering their size, flying them can't be a breeze.

Was it never intended for the dragons to fly daily, or were there just delays? Maybe they needed time to smooth out inaugural hiccups before launching them.
The silver lining is the multitude of interactive dragon experiences at Isle of Berk, like meeting Toothless. Imagine dragons flying overhead! How incredible would that be?
