Summer in Disney World is always full of lots and lots of people and crowds; however, one weekend is known for its crazy crowds and intense wait times: The Fourth of July.
Magic Kingdom
And even though the Fourth of July weekend is still over a month away, we are already seeing signs that it’s gonna be a super busy weekend. Park reservations are already starting to fill up, so let’s get into what you need to know if you’re planning on visiting Disney World over that weekend.
Currently, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th of July all have limited park reservation availability. Only Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are available to be booked, while Magic Kingdom and EPCOT are completely sold out. However, these park reservations only apply to ticket holders without a date-based reservation, so most of those guests with date-based tickets don’t need to worry about this update.

So, if you do not have a date-based ticket, we would suggest booking those reservations as soon as possible. However, since there is still availability at two parks if you want to visit EPCOT and Magic Kingdom on any of those three days, you can check into the park you reserved, then hop over to another park after, even though the reservations are full. This only applies if you have a park hopper ticket AND if the park has not reached capacity.
As well, we noticed that reservations are still open to Incredi Pass and Socerer Pass, Passholders. However, Passholders with the Pirate Pass or Pixie Pass are blocked out for this weekend. And any Passholders with availability should also book soon in case Passholder Reservations run out.

It’s also important to note that Magic Kingdom is going to be especially busy on the Fourth of July, because of the exclusive fireworks show that happens that evening. It is possible that on these extremely busy and popular days, the parks can reach capacity. So that means if you’re not in the park when it reaches capacity, then you won’t be able to get in. When visiting Disney World during these extremely popular times, it’s important to have a plan so you know exactly how to get the most out of your visit and beat the crowds. EPCOT has its own fireworks show, too, and while it tends to get crowded, it’s not typically as packed as Magic Kingdom.
