We're not going to pretend otherwise; after visiting Japan a few times, it's clear the food there is simply unmatched. And yes, that includes food from places like Tokyo Disneyland. But honestly, the magic extends beyond theme parks. Every corner of Japan, even its convenience stores, offers culinary delights, particularly the beloved egg sandwich. And here's a fun twist: the parent company of 7-Eleven, based in Japan, aims to bring these Japanese-style convenience stores, complete with those iconic egg sandwiches, to the U.S.

Convenience stores in Japan are celebrated for their fresh, high-quality offerings—from bento boxes to what Anthony Bourdain famously called "pillows of love," their egg sandwiches. Stephen Dacus, the CEO of Seven & i Holdings (7-Eleven’s parent company), is leading efforts to transform American 7-Elevens into food destinations of a similar caliber.

The plan involves over $13 billion in upgrades, including adding in-store restaurants and expanding the food network. While there's no specific timeline for these changes, the hope is that it happens sooner rather than later.

What are your thoughts? Would you like to see 7-Elevens in the U.S. receive this upgrade? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
