Even the best-laid plans for a Disney World trip can be upended by unexpected ride closures. Kali River Rapids in Animal Kingdom is set to close starting October 6th, expected to return in December, though no exact reopening date has been announced yet. It's happening earlier than usual this year, so plan accordingly if this water ride was high on your list!
Before it temporarily shuts down, remember to pack a poncho or an extra change of clothes because you might leave this ride a bit wetter than when you walked in.
In other closure news, say goodbye to DinoLand USA as it transforms into the Tropical Americas. The final sections will be closing completely by February 2025. Several other popular rides, such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and Spaceship Earth, will also be closed for refurbishment through October.
