Disney World is always making changes — always. Some come with massive announcements, and others are small and require a trained eye to notice.
Can you spot the change?
These recent changes are making us go “oh?” We’re kinda scratching our heads, but here are a few recent changes that might affect your upcoming trip.
At Disney’s Old Key West Resort, the boat dock is currently closed and will be unavailable until early August. The Sassagoula River Cruise takes you to Disney Springs, but for now, you can use the buses to get to the shopping district. The boat usually goes to Saratoga Springs Resort and Port Orleans Resort — Riverside and Port Orleans — French Quarter, and those routes are still available, weather permitting.
Closed!
This is a massive perk of the resort, so if you’re staying in the hotel, you’ll want to make sure you have alternative routes planned as well as some additional travel time as needed.

We know this seems like a small change, but it totally changes the aesthetic of our meal! Connections Eatery in EPCOT has switched out their nice ceramic plates for paper plates. It sounds silly, but we really love these plates and have even looked up the brand to try to get some for ourselves at home. For a quick-service restaurant, it made us feel like we were eating at a fancier place.
Pizza
When we ordered pizza, it came on a paper boat, and it kinda ruined the vibe. It’s a bit confusing because Disney is committed to being sustainable, so we imagine that these are recyclable. This could be a temporary change due to a broken dishwasher, but it’s been going on for a little bit, which is confusing us.

Breakfast at Disney World can be hard, so when we find a deal that’s too good to pass up, we have to share it with the world. That’s how we felt with the Continental Enhancement at Ale & Compass at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. For $28, you got a breakfast entree, a drink, and access to an ENTIRE breakfast buffet with additional offerings. Most entrees are around $15 to $25, so this was the deal of the century.
So many things to chose from
It has recently been removed from the menu, and instead, you can grab the Danish Breakfast for $10, which comes with cinnamon rolls, fruit danish, and assorted mini muffins, and the Continental parfait and Fruit for $10, which has acai, blueberry, strawberry, sliced banana, granola, coconut, and honey. These are really more add-ons to your entree; they aren’t the same thing as access to that full buffet, but that is an option if you’re interested. We might stick with the entrees for now!
