There are so many construction projects happening in Hollywood Studios right now, I feel like they should hand you a hard hat and a hammer when you enter the parks. Well, okay, most of it is all behind walls, so I might be able to ignore the construction a little bit, but there’s a lot happening with massive cranes and equipment everywhere.
Walt Disney Studios construction
Disney just filed three new permits for the park, and we might be seeing construction in other areas of the park soon.
In Toy Story Land filed a permit for “electrical work.” We know this doesn’t sound that exciting, and while it might all be in backstage areas, there might be a few more construction walls added along with closures of smaller areas. Disney hasn’t announced any major projects or closures coming to the area, so we’re hoping this will be a small fix.
Toy Story Land
Two permits were filed for Walt Disney Studios, the new area replacing Animation Courtyard — one for mechanical work and one for electrical work. It’s hard not to miss these massive construction walls and cranes when you enter the park, but we’re excited for the new land to open this summer.

It will include drawing classes with an animatronic Olaf (and if it’s anything like the one coming to Disneyland Paris, we’re going to be in awe)…

…and character meet and greets! They’re going to be themed to different departments of an animation studio.

From the concept art, it looks like there will be some more characters outside the building, which is The Magic of Disney Animation.

You can’t forget about the Alice in Wonderland-themed indoor playground, either. It’s based on the original concept art by Mary Blair, and we are beyond thrilled to be entering through the looking glass.

There will be a redesigned Disney Jr. show as well. It’s currently running in Disneyland, and we’ve had a lot of fun watching it, so being able to bring all those characters back here will be a blast.

Yeah, we’ll probably never stop talking about how excited we are for Walt Disney Studios to open, and more permits just mean more work in on the way, and we’re getting closer and closer to opening. The Toy Story Land permit threw us for a loop, but let’s cross our fingers that the project is short-lived. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more updates on Disney Parks!
