Disney fans celebrated when the last barrier from the EPCOT transformation finally came down, though now they're left a bit underwhelmed by the results. The promise of spectacular concept art full of color and creativity seemed to promise a more vibrant future, but the reality is looking more like a spruced-up college campus than an enchanting getaway.
On Instagram, fans sharply compared the finished product to its original concept art. Comments ranged from calling it an "Instagram vs Reality" scenario to jokingly renaming parts of the park "CommuniBORE Hall." Many feel the revamped EPCOT lacks the charm of the past, coming off as sterile and uninspiring.
While CommuniCore Hall has developed into a more engaging space with events like the Disney on Broadway experience and “GoofyCore” during Cool Kid Summer, many still reminisce about the more whimsical days of EPCOT’s past.
